Wine Club Summit
Livermore, CA January 22, 2008 - Vineyard & Winery Management organized another successful
Wine Club Summit at the Embassy Suites, San Rafael, CA. An array of speakers ranging from
wine club members, winery owners, industry experts and software shared information
with over 200 attendees. 15-20 exhibitors were also on hand to provide demonstrations
and solution to support a variety of clubs.
The travel industry has become a focus for club managers who are looking to offer unique benefits to club members.
Tours are put to gather to highlight wine regions in Italy, Mexico and the France. Wineries that are generally
not open to the public are selected and are sure to provide a special memory for everyone. The bonus to the
winery is that in addition to building strong bonds with club members such programs can actually generate new
revenue for the wineries. Wineries show significant interest in the new idea and several wineries sought out
additional information.
The topic of technology was one topic that seemed to touch everyone in the room. Solutions come with many
different options and generally range from $ 500.00 to $ 50,000.00. The speaker, Theresa Dorr from Active
Club Management presented key points for evaluating and selecting the best solution for your club program.
Several attendees added that the initial costs of a solution is often misleading as support contracts and
fees for upgrading their systems went well beyond their expectations. People often found that term contracts
cause a lack in service from the software provider. The open forum brought a lively discussion which continued
beyond the allotted time.
Vineyard and Winery Management shared that they were delighted with the speakers and believed that
the expertise contributed to the success of the conference.
