New Vine Logistics Open House

Livermore, CA April 1, 2009 - New Vine Logistics, Napa showcased their warehouse and fulfillment automation facility to approximately 40 attendees of their Open House. As most businesses are tightening their belts and streamlining operational costs New Vine has chosen to expand their facility.

New Vine Logistics is working hard to offer solutions that enable wineries to sell and ship their wines. They are streamlining compliance and finding solutions for fulfillment. They are also focused on being green, over coming obstacles that extreme weather plays on wines with solutions like WineAssure and stepping up their level of customer service and support to their clients.

The expansion was made to support several ventures that they feel will be sizable. The new projects include Amazon.com and Wine.Tv. Amazon is working to offer wines for sales, online. At this time the Amazon venture is held up pending approval that they can meet all the regulatory compliance approvals.

Selling wines through Amazon.com is not a quick, turn-key process. Any winery wanting to sell through Amazon.com will be required to register through New Vine Logistics. If you are not registered with NVL then you can't play in the world of Amazon & Wine. Shipping through New Vine Logistics will require you to re-register even if you are currently able to legally ship to States with such requiring. The New Vine Logistics team will help you through the process of identifying the hurdles, registering, getting new licenses in the State you want to sell in and getting your labels registered in the States where that approval is required. Don't forget to ask about the respective costs and options.

Wine.TV is another venture using New Vine Logistics as their exclusive fulfillment house. Dianne Mandell, Head of Marketing and Lorie Kim, COO & Founder pitched and encouraged wineries to participate with Wine.Tv. Their company plans to feature videos on wineries and respective wines so that the public/shoppers can be educated a bit on wines that they would otherwise not have available on the local market shelves. They are looking to launch in areas with limited Comcast coverage, Google, Blinkx, Howcast and MediaZone.

Wineries wanting to be a part of Wine.Tv will have access to a complete production crew. Rate cards for production and listing options are available directly from Wine.tv. AND certainly contact New Vine Logistics for the costs associated for fulfillment that is added to the production costs. Other companies who offer competitive services include Crushpad.com, winelibrary.com, KIWine.com, WineAccess.com and MastroTV.com.

The expectations of unique visitors were not rolled down to projected sales. Sales revenue potential is a big factor in making a financial investment with an advertiser and fulfillment house. The questions that come to mind: If I pay for a video production is the video owned by Wine.TV or is it the property of the winery? Will the registered wineries have access to the actual traffic to and through the Wine.TV site? During the presentations website traffic was presented in the term of "eye balls". Yes, it may be a cash-cow but before signing on the bottom line educating yourself on the true costs help to evaluate any risk that may be involved.

The bottom line is that each winery should do a bit of investigation when looking at services that sell your wine for you. Can you select your own fulfillment process or are you required to use a specific fulfillment house. If you file for licenses and register labels through a fulfillment house and you change fulfillment houses, do the licenses and label approvals go with you or do you have to invest in getting licensed in every State and register labels again with your own name?

In addition to the expansion in size and automation New Vine Logistics has also added a pre-sale compliance solution to their service offerings. Compliance in the wine industry is a continually changing challenge. FRONTIER, New Vine Logistics Compliance solution was introduced as more than the post-sale, pre-shipping solution that was previously offered. Integrated through webservices, Frontier is able to provide pre-sale compliance checks, applications, filing and tax reporting, permits and COLAS. New Vine Logistics can help you access 44 States for dailies and 36 States for Club shipments.
