Social Media, Viral Marketing and Direct-to-Consumer Roles Presented to
Napa Valley College
Livermore, CA August 18, 2009 - Napa Valley College will be presenting
the role that e-commerce, viral marketing, direct-to-consumer programs and web 2.0 play in
a business.
Viral marketing has always been around but emerged and was recognized in marketing plans during
the hey-days of the ".com" era. The recipe for the previous viral marketing programs was a little
time, a little money and a quick mind that thinks outside the box often won the prize and was
rewarded with tremendous response from their customers.
The recipe has not changed much. The newer media alternatives allow businesses with all sizes of
budgets (even zero budgets) to take advantage of the tools and creativity is definitely a key
ingredient said guest speaker Theresa Dorr. Getting started can be daunting and I will share ways
to get over those hurdles with as little ease as possible. The audience will no doubt have
bloggers, tweeters and quit a few people who are helping to drive and develop the next generation
of such tools so it should be a fun and interesting event.
